Instructions

Preheat Oven:
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a 10- to 12-inch ovenproof skillet over medium heat melt 2 tbsp butter Add sliced apples brown sugar and 1 tsp cinnamon Sauté for 5 6 minutes stirring frequently until apples are soft and caramelized Remove from heat and spread apples evenly in the skillet.
Mix Dry Ingredients:
In a large bowl whisk together flour sugar baking powder baking soda salt and 1 tsp cinnamon.
Mix Wet Ingredients:
In another bowl whisk together milk eggs melted butter and vanilla extract.
Combine Batter:
Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined do not overmix.
Pour Batter:
Pour the batter over the apples in the skillet spreading gently to cover.
Add Butter:
Dot the top with 1 tbsp butter in small pieces.
Bake Pancake:
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 18 minutes or until the pancake is puffed and golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool & Serve:
Let cool for 2 minutes then invert onto a serving plate so apples are on top Slice and serve warm with maple syrup and a dusting of powdered sugar if desired.
